Patients will be randomly assigned to treatment groups using a dedicated module of the software (InferMed MACRO, Ver. 3.0.85) responsible for data recording (center stratified randomization).

Group 1: variable pressure support ventilation

Group 2: conventional pressure support ventilation (non-variable)
